⚡ BEFORE THE ELECTRICIAN ARRIVES

IS YOUR BASEMENT READY FOR ROUGH-IN?

You don't need every finish selected, but a few important decisions should be made before we start running electrical wiring.

YOUR LAYOUT IS PLANNED

Know where the rooms, walls, doors and main furniture or appliance locations will be.

FRAMING IS READY

The planned wall and ceiling framing should be sufficiently complete for electrical boxes and cable routes to be installed.

LIGHTING LOCATIONS ARE DISCUSSED

Decide where you'd like ceiling lights, pot lights, switches and any separate lighting zones.

YOU KNOW ABOUT SPECIAL EQUIPMENT

Let us know about planned appliances, laundry equipment, a kitchenette or anything else that may need its own circuit.

⚡ COMMON QUESTIONS

BASEMENT ROUGH-IN QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

A few things to know before booking your basement electrical rough-in.

When should I book the electrician for my basement?
Contact us while you're planning or completing the framing. Electrical rough-in is generally completed before insulation and drywall, so it's best to coordinate the timing early.
Can you wire a basement that isn't fully framed yet?
We can discuss the project and review your layout before framing is complete. The areas being wired need to be sufficiently ready before the actual rough-in begins.
Can drywall go up right after the wiring is installed?
Not automatically. The required electrical inspection must be completed before the wiring is covered. We'll coordinate the applicable ESA inspection for the electrical work.
